Among the 66 people who have told me they are coming to the 100 th Monongah High Alumni Banquet at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 27 (Memorial Day Weekend) at the Knights of Columbus building on Mary Lou Retton Drive in Fairmont will be Sabrina Haught, Class of 1964, who will be giving the invocation. Sabrina married Richard Haught, pastor at TLC (Tender Loving Care?) Ministries for 17 years. Sabrina is retired from Dept of Homeland Security Marion County 911. She spent 31 years at HSMC and with fire departments and police agencies, including the final 5 years as part of the management team who handled public relations and advertising.   There are plenty of Haughts in Monongah High history.   Starting with the legendary late Gary Haught, whose sister is Tammy Haught Vandergrift, Class of 1977, of Frankfurt, Kentucky.   She went by Tama Haught when she was at Monongah High. She attended the 40-year reunion of her class at the 2017 Monongah High Alumni Banquet. Tammy was an accountant for 27 y

VISIT TO MY DAUGHTER'S 2ND HOME IN NORTH CAROLINA

Nothing can be finer Than to be in Carolina With my daughter And her husband This is a 2023 North Carolina montage of my trip to my daughter Monnie Ann and her husband, Bob, at their 2 nd home in Granite Falls which overlooks Lake Rhodhiss. Grandfather Olesky met Grandfather Mountain, which is 5,946 feet high near Linville, North Carolina. Chimney Rock Mountain, where I stood on the rock after climbing a tall ladder attached to the rock, which was cool. 71 miles from Granite Falls. And a 75-mile view of river, lake and other mountains. Monnie Ann and Bob have a boat dock just across their street and down through the trees to Rhodhiss Lake. Their boat is suspended about 8 feet above the water. Lower it, turn on the engine and take off! Too cold for us to do it when I was there in late March and early April for a week. But it’s good to be home in Tallmadge . . . till the next trip. After 54 countries, 44 states, 30 winters in Florida . . . who knows where that will
