Image
Leatrice Yokay Greaser in Tygart Center for rehab   Leatrice Yokay Greaser, Class of 1950, is rehabbing at Tygart Center at Fairmont Campus, 1539 Country Club Road in Fairmont, not far from Fairmont Field Club golf course where I caddied for a decade in my youth. She’s in room 304 if you want to call and wish her well. Phone (304) 534-6627 or (304) 366-9100. Lea seemed in decent spirits when she phoned me today. Leatrice and her singing at Monongah High was fabulous. She even had a radio show, with Mary Jo Forte as her pianist, on WMMN radio in Fairmont. I still call Leatrice “The Kathryn Grayson of Monongah High” because Lea’s singing voice at MHS reminded me of the singing actress in movies. Her brother, John Yokay, Jr., passed away in January 2022. Their sister, Patty Yokay Maddox, Class of 1948, passed away in 2020. Leatrice and Patty Urban Utz, also Class of 1950, phone each other regularly.
