WVU MEDICAL RESEARCH TO BE INCLUDED IN SUNDAY'S '60 MINUTES' ON CBS
’60 Minutes’
to feature WVU medical research on Alzheimer’s and addiction
WVU’s
Rockefell Neuroscience Institute’s work will be included in the Sunday, January
14 airing of CBS’ “60 Minutes.”
It will focus
on research to combat addictions through focused ultrasound and utilizing
focused ultrasound and antibody infusion to reduce brain amyloid plaques for
Alzheimer’s patients.
The WVU
ground-breaking research includes Dr. Ali R. Rezai, Neuroradiology
Departmentchair; Dr. James H. Berry,
doctor of osteopathic medicine, who chairs WVU’s Behavioral Medicine and
Psychiatry; Dr. David Watson, Neurology Department chairman; Randy Nelson,
Basic Science Research director; Dr. Peter Konrad, Neurosurgery Department
chair and Ruby Hospital professor of neurosurgery and neuroscience; and other
gifted people at WVU.
