FRANK NIGHT
Frank Knight, Class of 1970, passed away.
Mike Hess, Class of 1975, posted:
“He was friends with my brother, Robert Hess, Bruce Coleman
and me in our younger years. We grew up near each other on Helen's Run.
“He had worked as a block and brick
mason for Henderson Construction and a little while for Hess Construction.
“He is pictured in the 4th row far
left photo taken either at Thoburn or Monongah Junior High and his senior photo
at Monongah High school. He served our country in the Army.
“Prayers for Frank's family and friends. I have many memories
of Frank when we were young. I remember when he was living with his grandparents
on Helen's Run.
“He had bought a 55 or 56 Chevy and was working on fixing it
up. When he would start it up, it was loud and my brother Robert Hess and I (Michael
Hess) would run over to see what he was doing. He said I knew you would come
running, LOL.
“There was a little gang of us that hung around together.
Gary Hayhurst, Bruce Coleman, Robert Hess, Johnny Rowan and me. I was the
youngest, but they allowed me to tag along.
“As we were growing up we were always helping each other work
on our cars or some other projects.
“We were sad when Frank went to the Army and Korea. I
remember he stayed with us at my parents’ house one time that he was on leave.
Another time when on leave a couple of Army buddies were with him and we went
to Colasessano's for pepperoni rolls. His Army buddies had never had a
pepperoni roll before and loved them.
“After Frank got out of the Army he became a brick and block
mason and was very good at it.
“Rest in peace Frank.”
I couldn’t have written the article any better or with more
love, Mike. Thank you.
And, indeed, rest in peace, Frank. You will live on in
memories of people like Mike Hess.
