DAVE TARTELL PASSES AWAY. AMONG LEE AND JOSEPHINE MONELL TARTELL'S SEVERAL CHILDREN.
Dave
Tartell, Class of 1956, passes away
Dave
Tartell, Class of 1956, passed away Sunday, January 7. He was living in
Fairmont.
Dave’s
parents were Lee Tartell and Josephine Monell Tartell, both deceased.
Dave
was the widow of Delores DeMary Tartell. They were married in 1969.
Dave
was predeceased by Delores; Jim Schultz, whose widow is Elizabeth Schultz; brother
Louise Tartell, famous during my Monongah teen years for landing his plane atop
Claude Domico Hill; sister Elda Tartell Sharpe, who married Stanley Sharpe; brothers
Eugene “Hammer” Tartell and Phil Tartell; sisters Christina Tartell Arnett and Lorraine
Meredith, who married Walt Meredith.
Elizabeth
Schultz sold me encyclopedia set for my 3 children when we lived in Dayton, as Jim
and Elizabeth did. My late wife Monnie and I often visited Jim and Elizabeth
and “Hammer” Tartell, who also was living in the Dayton area at the time we
were. Hammer was quite an athlete at Monongah High, particularly in football.
