John Floyd Spatafore
of Fairmont passed away Tuesday, December 26.
He was married to
Francine Lee Amuso Spatafore for 62 years.
Floyd’s parents were
another Floyd Spatafore and Anna Fazzini Spatafore, Class of 1933, who passed
away in 2008 while living in Stoney Lonesome, up the hill from the United Mine
Workers building in Monongah that was near Pepsi Meffe’s service station.
Floyd and Francine’s
children are Jennifer Tritle of Springfield, Ohio, married to Gerald Tritle,
and Samuel Spatafore of Roundrock, Texas, married to Kathryn Spatafore.
Floyd’s sisters are
Maryanna Pizatella of Columbus, Ohio, and Cindy Toothman of Monongah, married
to John Toothman.
Floyd and Francine
have 5 grandchildren.
Floyd graduated from
the Biblical Life College and Seminary, worked for the Department of Defense
till his 1993 retirement and was a United Methodist pastor, licensed mental
health counselor who could whack the golf ball pretty well, too.
Domico Funeral Home
in Fairmont, founded by a late Monongah High graduate who lived a few houses
away from my Church Street childhood home and next to Our Lady of Pompeii
Church, is handling Floyd’s arrangements.

Floyd Spatafore, 85, of
Fairmont, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2023. Floyd was born on November 4,
1938, the son of the late Floyd Spatafore and Anna Fazzini Spatafore.
Floyd is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Francine Lee
Amuso Spatafore; children Jennifer (Gerald) Tritle of Springfield, OH, and
Samuel (Kathryn) Spatafore of Roundrock, TX; sisters Maryann Pizatella of
Columbus, OH, and Cindy (John) Toothman of Monongah, WV; grandchildren Father
Jediah Tritle, Josiah Tritle, Sarah Tritle, Rebecca Spatafore, and Joshua
Spatafore.
Floyd was preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Anna
Spatafore.
Floyd Spatafore was a graduate of the Biblical Life College and
Seminary, and has a degree in biblical counseling. He also has a master’s
degree in psychology and a bachelor’s degree in business administration. He
worked for the Department of Defense, retiring in 1993. Upon his retirement, he
worked as a licensed professional, mental health counselor. He was a United
Methodist Pastor, and he enjoyed playing golf, and counseling.
