WANDA MAY BRAGG HARBERT PASSES AWAY

Wanda May Bragg Harbert passes away

Harold Maze informed me that Wanda May Bragg Harbert passed away at the age of 83. She had been living at the Pierpoint Center on the Fairmont campus.

She was married to Ted Wilson Harbert.

Wanda was born in Arnettsville, West Virginia, to Anna Doris Floyd Bragg and Raymond Bragg. Her siblings Raymond Bragg, Jr. and Norma Jean Bragg Coleman are deceased.

Surviving siblings are Don Bragg, Rick Bragg of Cottondale, Alabama, Randy Bragg of Mannington, Sherry Puccio of Monongah and Dottie Harbert of Monongah.

Wanda is survived by her children, Rae Ann Carter of Monongah, Bradford Allen Harbert of Monongah and Teddy Wilson Harbert, Jr. of Hutchinson.

There are a ton of Harberts floating through Monongah High and Monongah history:

Minnie Harbert, born in Monongah to John and Mary Manzo Hinerman, who lived in Idamay and was the widow of Farmington High and Fairmont State graduate David Keith Harbert, her husband for 63 years.

Their children who all live in Maryland are John Harbert, Paul Harbert, James Harbert, Kathy Harbert Kolson and Joseph Harbert.

Dave’s father was Sam Harbert, brother of former Thoburn Elementary principal Frank Harbert, who married Goldie Harbert. Frank and Goldie’s son, Donald Duane Harbert, Class of 1951, was part of the gang that I ran around with in Marion County during my Monongah High days. We knew him as Duane, son of principal Frank Harbert and Goldie Harbert.

Cindy Sue Brooks Harbert, Class of 1975.

Danny Harbert, Class of 1975.

Sandra Saunders Harbert, Class of 1965.

Ferrell Harbert, Class of 1958.
