RAYMOND JOY, CLASS OF 1955, PASSS AWAY
Raymond
Joy, Class of 1955, passed away Sunday.
Raymond was the last of Joseph and Mary Falcone Joy’s
children to pass away. He was predeceased by Joe Joy, Class of 1957, who married
Victoria Seccuro Joy, who still lives in Monongah; Bob Joy, Class of 1956, on
the 1955 Monongah High state champions football team; John Joy, Class of 1960;
and Bill Joy, Class of 1964.
Raymond’s widow is Lois Merico Joy, 1951 Fairview High
graduate.
Raymond
retired from Consol Robinson Run Mine. He was an Army veteran who enjoyed
hunting and fishing and was a WVU sports fan.
Raymond was
in the Letterman’s Club at Monongah High.

Raymond
Anthony Joy, 86, of Monongah passed away Sunday February 5, 2023 at J.W. Ruby
Memorial Hospital in Morgantown. He was born on September 2, 1936 in Monongah
son of the late Joseph and Mary Falcone Joy.
Raymond
retired from Consol Robinson Run Mine. He was a veteran and served in the
Unites States Army. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a WVU sports fan.
Raymond is
survived by his wife Lois Merico Joy of Monongah and children Anna Maria
(Stephen) Bennington of Barackville and Johnna (Barry) Phillips of Monongah. He
is also survived by three grandchildren John (Crystal) Bennington, Julianne
(JC) VanGilder, and Tyler (Olivia) Phillips and seven great grandchildren. He
is also survived by his sister-in-law Vickie Joy of Monongah and his special
niece and nephew Lisa and Mike Joy, and several other nieces and nephews.
In addition to
his parents he is preceded in death by four brothers Joseph, Robert, John and
William Joy.
Friends may
call at Ross Funeral Home 801 Fairmont Avenue Fairmont on Sunday February 12,
2023 from 2-8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 a.m. at
the funeral home with Pastor Karl Streyle officiating. Interment will follow at
West Virginia National Cemetery in Pruntytown.
